MTag Capture · Device test card

Zebra scanner (barcode + OCR) and Feig CPR30 Pro NFC reader at a pack station. Takes about 20 minutes. Everything you scan is recorded automatically; a lead reviews the results remotely.

Before you start. Sign in on the station page, then open Device check (Lead button on the station, or /mtag/device-check). Make sure the big "Scan here" field has the cursor. The scanner must be in keyboard mode with Enter (CR) as the suffix. Write the station id and your name in Notes once.

1. Barcode — 5 sample SKUs (test: Barcode)

  1. Pick 5 samples from any order.
  2. Type the SKU printed on the sample into Expected value, then scan its barcode. Repeat for all 5.
Pass: each read shows Sample barcode, "matches expected ✔", terminator enter, "scanner pace", no prefix, no suffix.

2. OCR — 20 reads off the M4N pack screen (test: OCR)

  1. Open an order on the real WMS pack screen. Type its order number (14 digits) into Expected value.
  2. Point the scanner's OCR at the order number and trigger. Do 20 reads in total, moving between orders: about 10 in normal light, 5 with glare (lamp or window behind you), 5 from a slight angle (about 30°). Put "glare" or "angle" in Notes for those.
Pass: 19 of 20 show Order number and "matches expected ✔". A read of a different number on the screen (tracking, PO, wave) is a fail: write down which field it read. Any characters before the number show as prefix "…": write it down (see step 5).

3. NFC — 10 MTags (test: MTag (NFC))

  1. Take 10 MTag stickers. Hold each on the reader until it beeps / types.
  2. If you have 2 "nonce" / blank tags, read them too and write "nonce" in Notes.
Pass: each MTag read shows MTag with a 16-character tag_ref starting E002, terminator enter, "scanner pace", no prefix / suffix. A reader that types more than 16 characters is fine (the first 16 are the tag). Nonce tags may show Bad read: note what they typed.

4. Speed — 10 sample→tag pairs (test: Speed)

  1. Switch the test to Speed. At your normal working pace: scan a sample barcode, then read a tag. Repeat 10 times.
Pass: the reads alternate Sample barcode / MTag, every tag read shows "sample→tag … ms" (your pace: typically 1–3 s), none shows Bad read.

5. Prefix / suffix

If any read in steps 2–4 showed a prefix (for example OCR: or a symbol before the number) or a suffix other than Enter, write it here exactly as shown. That value becomes the app's OCR_PREFIX setting; a suffix means the scanner profile needs changing.
